Listening Deeply | Nature Retreat Day| Mindfulness and Self-Compassion

Let’s slow down and breathe… listening deeply… relaxing on the soft grass, in the shade of the gum trees… feeling the wind warm on our skin… connecting with nature… connecting with ourselves… ideas of demands and deadlines vanish… refreshed and revitalised again.

Practising mindfulness in nature can help us to open our senses, be present, listen deeply to life and feel alive again.
SPRING: FERTILITY and CREATION
During the whole day, our practices will be inspired by the season of Spring and the element of Water.
We’ll celebrate rebirth and fertility, share how new beginnings have shaped our lives, and embrace our creativity with a body-based sense of life, self-love and nourishment.
DAY OF LISTENING DEEPLY | 9.30am – 4.30pm
MINDFULNESS and SELF-COMPASSION in NATURE
A whole day together! What a rich opportunity to nourish ourselves by listening deeply to the nature around us, to our inner nature and to our heart’s wishes, in the company of like-minded folk.
In the morning, we’ll bathe in the experience of nature connection, and let the mind unwind, surrounded by trees and birds.
We’ll playfully explore listening deeply! Sitting and walking in nature, connecting to nature with our senses, venturing into the “nature inside” and exploring exercises using mindfulness, story and song.
There will also be some social time, sharing tea and snacks together, and yarning circles to help us connect to each other and share how mindfulness and nature can support our wellbeing and help us meet the challenges in life.
This part of the day focuses on self-care and self-compassion.
We’ll listen deeply to our body, heart and mind, surrounded by the beauty of nature, and learn practices that help meet our needs.
We’ll become our own best friend, or coach, and learn how self-compassion practices can build our confidence, resilience and open-heartedness.
We’ll go gently and playfully into this material, using movement, story, song, circle time and connecting exercises, as well as time in meditation.
These heart-practices are a beautiful way to enrich our awareness with self-acceptance, self-love, self-worth and balance, and let go of perfectionism and self-criticism.
Practices include: Loving Kindness, Compassionate Movement, Gratitude, Receiving from the Earth
You’ll leave knowing how to practise mindfulness in nature, and how to tune into your personal needs and your good heart with self-compassion.
We’ll provide access to free guided audio to help you continue your journey, so you can keep benefitting long after this day retreat is over!

10% of all event profits will go to the Miriam Rose Foundation, to support the charity’s work in sharing Dadirri.
